FILIPINO COMMUNITY leader Jose “Jun” Relunia Jr. receives Australia Day Penrith Local Appreciation Medal
Jan 22 – Philippine community leader Jose :Jun” Relunia was among the six personalities and entities honoured today during the Penrith City Australia Day 2020 Awards Night held at Penrith City Civic Centre in Penrith, NSW.

Penrith Citizen of the year is former Australian Federal Police and community volunteer Mr Malcolm Robar.
Those who received the Perith Local Appreciation Awards were Jun Relunia, Ian West, Robert Rigby, Cherise Terry-Jones Jans, Mama Lana Community and Penrith Giants Kickability Team.


Jun Relunia’s awards CV says “Mr Jose Relunia is a highly trusted, respected and recognised leader among the Penrith and Greater Sydney Filipino Communities and he has devoted his life to helping others and sharing his culture with the broader community.”


Mr Relunia is president of Western Sydney FilOz Association, President of the Philippine Society of Senior Citizens, Inc,(PASSCI), one-time president of the Philippine Communities Council of NSW (PCC-NSW), and former president of Australian Devotees of Our Lady of Penafrancia (ADOLP.

In retirement, Relunia had dedicated his time to his faith and volunteering for the Filipino Chaplaincy Diocese of Parramatta Litergical Committee at St Nicholas of Myra Parish in Penrith.
