Back by popular demand, Nurragingy Reserve is transformed into the dark ages of medieval magic, launching the 2013 Blacktown City Festival with My Lords and Ladies Medieval Fayre, held on 18 – 19 May, between 10am and 4pm.

Held over two massive days, the Medieval Fayre showcases all things medieval including colourful pavilions, period jewellery making and combat displays.

This event is open to all ages and invites you to leap back in time! Both days will feature “International Jousting Competitions”, with event riders from Australia, New Zealand and England, seeking to claim the jousting prestigious title.

The Medieval Fayre provides a FREE, fun and exciting day out for the entire family to enjoy. While your explore the Reserve, you will experience a traditional market, filled with quality arts and crafts for visitors to buy, ranging from metalwork to unique gifts, fashions and other delightful objects.

Musicians will perform music from the baroque and renaissance period, with classical influences to please the senses.

Plus there will be children’s craft workshops, camel rides, food stalls, ancient armour displays and much, much more!

Don’t miss out on this fabulous family event – but beware of the roving characters you might bump into! Jesters, hunchbacks, witches and giants will be roaming around the Fayre. Look out for the 300 year old bearded Elder and Robin Hood.

The event is open to all ages, has free entry and visitors will experience the excitement of living history at its best. Bring a picnic or purchase your lunch and enjoy a great family day out.

My Lords and Ladies Medieval Fayre is presented by Blacktown City Council and will be the opening event of the jam packed 2013 Blacktown City Festival program, which runs for eight days across Blacktown City from 18 to 25 May.
