Visit the multicultural food festival called Flavours of Auburn from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm on 31st of October, showcasing multicultural harmony, inclusivity and collaboration among individuals and member organisations of the Auburn Small Community Organisation Network or ASCON.
Venue of the multicultural event supported by the Auburn City Council is the Auburn Centre for Community located at 44A Macquarie Road, Auburn, NSW.
Flavours of Auburn is a project of ASCON which comprises of small and emerging communities of newly-arrived migrants, refugees and asylum seekers. The network plan and organise together the sharing of their rich cultural heritage through their authentic traditional cuisine.
The Alliance of Philippine Community Organisations or APCO has been an active participant of the festival for
five years in a row, actively leading the organising committee, preparing Filipino food and showcasing authentic traditional dances.
Want to sample and taste Pinoy-style chicken, pork and beef barbeque and the ice-cold drink halo-halo, among others in an array of dishes from all over the world? Come to the Flavours of Auburn food festival.
Current APCO President, Ruben Amores, who is also the current ASCON Chairperson would be there leading other Filipino-Australians in many activities of the event. Mr. Amores and other other Filipino Australians would be there like every year working in their resplendent traditional Barong and Filipiniana costumes , highlighting Philippine folkloric culture.
