President of the Philippine Communities Council of NSW Mr Alric Bulseco and most of his team were returned to their posts in the peak organisation, following an Annual General Meeting which was deemed a Special General Meeting, and election held at the Marayong Community Centre in Marayong, NSW last Sunday 16 February 2020.
The meeting started at 1:30 pm until about 6:00 PM. after tackling out an AGM agenda as well as issues about the PCC-NSW amendments to its constitution which, after much discussions, were deferred for another day.
Those elected: President, Alric Bulseco (Mindanao Association): Vice President External, Cesar Bartolome (Knights of Rizal); Vice President Internal, Darrell Swadling (APAI Wollongong); Treasurer, Alice Tayaban (Cordillerans); Secretary, Rod Dingle (Pangasinan Association): Internal Auditor, Espie Pogson (Abra Association) and Public Relations Officer, Sheilla Collantes (Hot Mamas).

Members of the Board of Directors are: Vangie Leones (Kalayaan Inc. ), Emily Rudd (Pozzorubians) , Lilian delos Reyes (Tagalog Association), Grace Liston (Alpha Phi Omega Sydney), Rox Molavin (FACAES). Angie Jenkins (Baybay and Friends) and Rowena Turnbull ( BPAC Bathurst) . Immediate Past President Mrs Serna Ladia is current public officer while the current web site in-charge is Ronaldo Villaver. It is understood St Marys accountancy L.D, Ceniza & Co, remains the body’s external auditor.
Alric Bulseco got 24 votes while challengers former Auditor Demi Robinson, 11 and 2009 PCC-NSW president Ronaldo Villaver, 7 votes Some 46 registered voters representing 46 affiliate member organisations participated. Volunteers mostly former PCC-NSW officers and board members served in election registration and counting of votes. There was increase in number of voters, from last year’s 38 registered voters.
Campbelltown Councillor Mr Rey Manoto acted as election officer. Representation by Mr Bobby Lastica for Bicol Inc was not recognised due to alleged lack of proper accreditation from the president of Bicol Inc.
Re-elected president Mr Bulseco had been with PCC-NSW for more than 10 years, serving in various capacities. An experienced community leader, vice president external Mr Cesar Bartolome returns to peak body leadership after 10 years. Mr Rod Dingle was elected unopposed for Secretary.
Candidates who were out of the country at the time: Zena Samar for Treasurer lost to re-electionist treasurer Alice Tayaban whilst directors Rowena Turnbull and Angie Jenkins. also overseas, were re-elected as directors. Vangie Leones, representing Kalayaan Golf is first time director of PCC-NSW.
Vice President Internal Darrel Swadling has moved from being secretary some two or three years ago. He won over candidate Ms Penny Perfecto of Bicol Inc., by only one vote. Espie Pogson who was PRO last year move to a new role of Internal Auditor whilst Sheilla Collantes is now the body’s PRO, from being director last year.
Well known Sydney entertainer Lilian delos Reyes is a “returnee” to the PCC-NSW Board having been a director in previous years, not last year.
PCC-NSW is the umbrella body for New South Wales, and is affiliate of the Australia-wide umbrella body called Filipino Communities Council of Australia (FILCCA),
It hosts every year the two big ticket events Philippine Independence Day Ball in June and the Philippine Christmas (Pasko) Festival in November.
