BY VIOLI Calvert – The Filipino-Australian community in Sydney has been rocked by the sad news that one of its respected spiritual leaders has passed away. Pastor Rudy Tan of FCF Life Centre joined His Maker on the early hours of Tuesday, November 22.
Pastor Rudy was instrumental for Radio Tagumpay* and FCF Life Centre to be partners in undertaking Selfless Love Concert on March 20, 2021. The concert raised funds for international students and their families who were recommended and assessed for financial assistance during the pandemic.
At its broadcast on 23rd November, 2022, the Radio Tagumpay team paid tribute to Pastor Rudy Tan. In the program promotion, the Radio Tagumpay team expressed its gratitude.
“We will remember Pastor Rudy Tan for his gentleness, kindness and deep Faith which inspired us, the FCF Life Centre family, the Filipino-Australian community and beyond.”
The finale song of the Selfless Love concert,”The Power of Love” was played to pay tribute to Pastor Rudy Tan.
Pastor Nomer Velasco, the current president of the denomination Foursquare Church Australia urged friends and the community in Sydney to continue praying and bring comforts to Pastor Rudy’s wife Pastor Marion Tan and family.

Brief Information on Pastor Rudy Tan
14 May 1949 – 22 November 2022
Rudy Tan is Senior Pastor of FCF Life Centre situated in Minchinbury. Before stepping into fulltime ministry in 1995, he worked in the IT industry for 25 years. Rudy was instrumental in the formation of the church, and was involved in planting four other churches, all members of the Foursquare family. He is Principal and lecturer at LIFE Bible College.
On the small hours of 22 November, Pastor Rudy joined his Maker. He was married to Marion and they are blessed with two children, Monina and Randolf. He was a doting grandfather of Ryan (12 yrs) and Andy Tan (9 yrs ); and Jack Castro 10 (yrs). He loved his children in-law Glenn Castro and Vi Tan.
