Bryan Bautista from Harrington Park and member of Pogi Social Golf Club won the recent Filcos Fairfield golf tournament at Woodville golf course.
He scored 68 points using System 36 method of scoring and winning by count back. He was awarded with trophy plus $350 cash and the privilege to engrave his name in the perpetual shield. “I think it was my lucky day as I have not been winning any tournament lately” said an static Bryan.
Grade winners with their net System 36 scores were: Alfred Bacucang (Net 70 CB) for A and Rico Corpuz (Net 71) for B. These grade winners were awarded with trophies plus $200 cash prize each for their fantastic efforts.
Grade runners up with their net System 36 scores were: Kye O (Net 72) for A and Willie Trinidad (Net 72) for B. These grade runners up were awarded with plaque plus $100 cash prize each for their best efforts.
Novelty prizes were also awarded to winners by division on selected holes at $20 per hole, whether nearest the pins (par 3’s), longest drives (par 5’s) and best drive & pitch (par 4’s).
Before the start of the tournament, all participants were handed with packs of fruits and bottled water. After the tournament, everyone was treated with pre-packed lunch of fried chicken, noodles and muffin coupled with selection of soft drinks and beers courtesy of the Filcos Fairfield officers and volunteers.
There were sixty three (63) golfers who participated in this annual fund raising golf tournament which is now on its ninth (9th) year. The proceeds will go towards the various ministry projects of Filcos Fairfield under the leadership of Fr Nards Mercene. Wilma Bacucang is the incumbent president who thanked everyone and invited all the supporters to come back again next year.
