Fil-oz Social Golf Club team captained by Arnold Villamayor won the 2020 Interclub Golf Challenge held on October 5, 2020 at Fox Hills Golf Club.
The team scored 417 net total points using System 36 method of scoring and “six to play – three to count” per division (A & B) towards the team. Fil-oz team was awarded with the monumental trophy plus medals for all its members, $300 cash and the privilege to engrave its name in the huge perpetual trophy. “So happy that our team won this year’s series” simply said an ecstatic Arnold.

Team Runner up was Tee-riffic Berdies Puro Golf/Marsden Park Golfer Association captained by Jim Gonzales and assisted by Zaldy Kapulong with total score of 421 points. The team was awarded with $180 cash prize for their fantastic efforts.
Individual division winners with their System 36 scores and club represented were: Chris Blakeley (68 CB Puro) for A and Jim Gonzales (69 CB Puro) for B. These division winners received cash prizes of $100 each for their exceptional performances.
Individual division runners up with their System 36 scores and club represented were: Phil Wilson (68 CB, Pogi) for A first runner up and Arnold Villamayor (69 CB, Fil-oz) for B first runner up. Second runners up were Stan Tan (68, Pogi) for A and Philip Ranoso (69 CB, PASC) for B. These division runners up winners were awarded with $100 cash prizes for first and $50 for second, respectively, for their best efforts.
Due to Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, no novelty prizes were awarded and no awards presentation ceremonies were held at the club house after the tournament.
There were nine (9) social golf clubs who participated in this 3rd Interclub Golf Challenge. Namely, Fil-oz Social Golf Club, Sydney Metro Sharks (No 1) and Sydney Metro Bears (No 2), Golf ParE Social club, Sydney Jokers Social club, Tee-riffic Berdies Puro/Marsden Park Golfer association, Pogi Social Golf club and South Pacific golf club, with total participants of 106 golfers.
All participants were given snack pack of fruits and bottled water before shot gun start at 7:15am. Lunch composed of Oporto Chicken burgers were handed over at half way to all participants.
The Interclub Golf Challenge is now the second major annual golf tournament of Kalayaan, Inc Organizing Committee. The first was the Kalayaan Cup golf tournament held every long weekend in June in conjunction with the commemoration of the proclamation of Philippine Independence.
Part of the proceeds will be donated to Missionaries of Charity in Tondo, Manila, Philippines.
