ANTIQUE, Philippines – Antique National School (ANS) once again bag a Gold Award in 2014 International Schools Cyber Fair Competition and Exhibition for their entry ‘Antique’s don Quixote – a man of impossible dreams.
International Schools Cyber Fair is the largest online educational event of its kind, bringing together more than 5 million students across 115 countries.
‘Antique’s don Quixote’ features life, works and legacy of Antique’s martyr and hero the late Governor Evelio Javier (EBJ) who is also famous for the song ‘Impossible Dream’.
Under the search category “Local Officials’ the team decided to feature the life of Evelio B. Javier who have done so much not only for the Antiquenos but to the entire Filipino nation during the 1986 People Power Revolution.
A team of five students declared “It’s never easy, we spent sleepless nights and busy days accomplishing the research work, layout and web design, before it’s finally uploaded in the web.”
“We are happy with the result. Hard our work and collaboration with our teachers especially Ma’am Jocelyn Remonte, our adviser and Gaudencio Riego, School Princpal and those who helped us during the data gathering paid off,” said Joslin Roz H. Galilea, Team Leader/Web Designer of the group.
Other members of the team are Andrea Beatrice A. Pechueco- Web Designer/Researcher, John Emil P. Escobar, Joyce B. Jacaba and J-Lyn B. Ramos as researchers.
