President Elsa Collado of the umbrella organisation Philippine Community Council of New South Wales (PCC- NSW) called on leaders of its affiliate organisations to join the forthcoming Blacktown “Sreets Alive” parade slated at 10 am on Saturday 25 May 2013
Mrs. Collado and the new PCC team of officers and directors will lead a contingent of parade participants to show PCC’s continued support to Philippine President Benigno Aquino III’s call for unity and solidarity especially among overseas Filipinos. President Aquino’s 2013 theme for governance is “Kapit-bisig sa Matuwid na Daan” (Linking Arms to Right Direction)
Place for assembly place for the Philippine contingent in the parade is Warrick Lane Car Park , behind Cash Converter on Main Street, Blacktown.
Blacktown Festival which includes the “Street Alive” parade” is an important event in Western Sydney’s annual mullticultural calendar. It showcases many cultural presentations from the city’s culturally diverse population and is highlighted by the much followed and colourful parade on Main Street..
PCC- NSW is also inviting it’s member affiliates and the rest of the Filipino community to participate in the coming Philippine National Day Ball, an annual fund-raising event held in cooperation with the Philippine Consulate General of Sydney celebrating the anniversary of the declaration of Philippine Independence.
This event will be held at the Grand Pavillon of the Rosehill Gardens Event Centre, James Ruse Drive, Rosehill NSW on the 9th of June 2013. This year’s celebration offers an evening programme that promises to entertain everyone with a few surprises in store.
