The time is coming up again to celebrate our city, our place and our cultural identity at the annual Blacktown City Festival from 18 to 25 May 2013.
Blacktown City Council is calling for expressions of interest from community groups, schools and businesses to participate in the 2013 Street Alive & Parade on Saturday 25 May at 11am.
The popular Street Parade is the perfect opportunity to spread the word about your community group or business to more than 50,000 people who sideline the streets to watch the parade.
This year there are five $500 cash prizes up for grabs to participants, with all entries judged on their creativity, colour and innovation.
Prize categories include:
· Overall Best Dressed
· Best Community Entry
· Best Education Entry
· Best Business Entry
· Best Band Entry
The Streets Alive & Parade is a highlight of the 2013 Blacktown City Festival. The day will kick start at 9am until 4pm and will feature 350 street stalls, six performance stages, gourmet food stalls, exciting displays and heaps of attractions.
Headlining the 2013 Streets Alive & Parade day is the, 2012 X-Factor finalists, The Collective who will perform their hit single ‘Surrender’ and other great hits on stage one at 12.10pm.
Anyone can participate, and entry is FREE! Interested groups should return their expression of interest to Council not later Monday 22 April 2013.
