Newspaper coverage of events compelled editors to publish the more important photos at one edition, put simply because of space limitations.
Some pictures are considered less important, but gain importance after some developments in the life of subject individual, for instance. Or other photos were deemed more significant than others.
Such photos are deposited in the newspaper’s photo library and became simply cold mementos of past events, their significance in the eyes of the newspaper editors increased in importance after still subsequent events.
This might be about a person considered less popular at one time and became a celebrity later. Or about a person who was less notorious before, but later on gained notoriety either by court conviction or other legal issues.
Or a change in status in the light of public eyes.
Judge for yourself some of these photos which were left in the editor’s drawer, but now become interesting scenes.
