Former Filipino Community Council of Australia (FILCCA) president Mrs. Marisa Vedar of Melbourne has been appointed ATO Community Ambassador for the Filipino Community Australia-wide.
The role of the Community Ambassador is to assist the Australian Tax Office in disseminating information and create awareness within the Community of legislative changes to Superannuation and how it affects us.
There would be massive campaign in print, radio, TV and social media to get the message across but more importantly, my role is to ensure the Filipino Community is well made aware and that these messages are understood.
This campaign runs till 30 June 2013 after which the ATO will decide what we can further d o to assist.
Mrs. Vedar said she will be sending community leaders and stake holders series of information for dissemination to community groups.
Vedar said she can also put forward request by those wishing to organise an Info Session with an ATO official in their area.
