Nominations for the 2020 Premier’s Multicultural Communications Awards (PMCAs) are now open.
Acting Minister for Multiculturalism Geoff Lee encouraged all eligible multicultural media and professionals to apply for the program which recognises excellence in multicultural communications across 12 categories.
“2020 has been a year of uncertainty and turbulence and during these critical times we have relied on our multicultural communicators to share vital public health messages with our communities,” Mr Lee said.
“It’s vital to recognise and honour the outstanding work of our multicultural media outlets who work tirelessly and often on a volunteer basis to keep us informed.
“We look forward to receiving exceptional nominations which shine a spotlight on the key issues facing our diverse communities and amplify perspectives that otherwise would remain unheard.”
Categories include Publication of the Year, Best Audio Report, Best Print Report and the Public Interest Award.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the PMCAs will be delivered fully online in 2020. Nominations close at 5pm on Monday 19 October 2020.
The awards are open to all multicultural media professionals.
