The Hon Gladys Berejiklian
Premier of NSW
Dear Ms Premier:
Thank you for the work you and your team seem to be doing to get things back to ‘normal’, easing NSW out of the Covid-19 lockdown.
I am a senior citizen with no known ‘underlying condition’, placing my well-being into healthy habits and God’s benevolent hands.
Clubs, pubs, restaurants which have been allowed to open on 1 June 2020 are not regular venues for me.

My Catholic Church is – my place of worship where I draw spiritual nourishment, where I reflect, where I replenish my ‘strength’.
My Catholic Church is essential to my health and well-being – spiritually, mentally, physically – as perhaps with thousands who worship regularly.
I would appreciate that churches/ places of worship would also be allowed to open on 1 June 2020 with 50 individuals on site.
Kindly trust that at this age, I would know how to keep myself out of harm’s way – as probably with many seniors – and your ‘concern’ for seniors is appreciated.
On the same vein, I would also appreciate the dignity of choice, to be able to attend my Church to worship, if the NSW government would so allow by easing restrictions on churches/places of worship, in the same way it has eased restrictions on places of pleasure so others would, also by choice, be able to drink, eat and be merry from 1 June 2020.
Thank you. Rest assured I will keep you and your team in my prayers and lift your needs to my God.
On bcc are some of my friends who also live in NSW and need/hunger for their Church/place of worship as much as I do.
Respectfully,
Evelyn A. Opilas
