Dr Cen Amores, President of multicultural Auburn Small Community Organisation Network (ASCON) Inc and Founding President of the Alliance of Philippine Community Organisations Inc (APCO) received another award for outstanding community services.
In recognition for her outstanding services to the multicultural communities, the Bayside Chamber of Commerce and Australian Welfare Association on the 19 th of October. She was nominated by members of the Chamber and was informed by its General Secretary Farid Ahmed who said that they were very much aware and appreciative of Dr Amores’ work and commitment with the multicultural communities, hence this Award of Excellence.
The awarding was made during the BCC’s annual gala dinner at the Red Rose Palace in Rockdale where Federal MP Matt Thistlethwaite of Kingsford Smith was guest speaker and award presentor. Dr Jimmy Lopez, Sedgwich Housing Cooperative president, Violeta Escultura, APCO Inc president, Glorina Papaiannou and Zeny Piosic, APCO Directors and Ruben Amores, Kapitbahayan Coop President and ASCON Inc Founding President and Public Officer were also on hand to witness the awarding and to support the event.
Cen has been leading ASCON Inc for three years and continues to play her important role as ZEST Ambassador for Greater Western Sydney. She also served as People of Australia Ambassador, designated by the Federal Government to actively promote the benefits of multiculturalism.
