The Filipino festival Fiesta of Sto Nino de Cebu will be held 20th January in Brisbane at the historic All Saints Parish Church with no less than Philippine Honorary Consul Mrs Margaret Grummit as main guest of honour .
A Catholic mass will be held at 9:30 am with community leader Mrs Myrla Prianes reading the first lesson.
The celebration, Philippine in origin, and observed on the Third Sunday of January has a relevance for the western Pacific and south-east Asia, as it relates to the coming of Christianity to this region of the world, said a parish of All Saints Churh spokesperson.
Members of All Saints’ Church who enjoy a Philippine heritage would particularly welcome all who would wish to share this event with them. Enquiries may be made to the Parish Office (07) 32363692, or e-mail admin@allsaintsbrisbane.com.
