Mr Neil Narvais of St Helen’s Park,NSW prevailed as overall champion during the inaugural Grand Masters’ Charity Golf Cup presented by  Freemason Lodge Blacktown-Kildare 393 at Fairfield Golf Course on Saturday, July 29, 2017 with his unbeatable score of net 65 using his handicap of 9.5, under the System 36 method of scoring.
Mr Navais was awarded with the monumental trophy, cash prize of $100 and the privilege to engrave his name in the perpetual trophy. “I am happy with the win. I was just trying to beat my personal score at Fairfield golf course and winning was a bonus, especially with one stroke lead,” said an ecstatic Neil Narvais.
Grade winners with their gross scores were: Chris Blakeley (64) for A; Raul Amor (89) for B and Ruel Tabar (98) for C. These winners received trophies and $50 cash prize each for their great efforts.
Grade runners up, including first and second were: Bert Bugayong (R/U); Danny Martinez (1st R/U) and Gerry Estera (2nd R/U) for Grade A; Manny Maniago (R/U); Phil Pardo (1st R/U) and Tim delos Reyes (2nd R/U) for Grade B and Victor Edilloran (R/U), Clarins Banares (1st R/U) and Robert Iligan (2nd R/U) for Grade C. These grade runner up winners received trophies for their fantastic efforts.
Novelty prizes were awarded for all eighteen (18) holes, namely nearest the pin (par 3), best drive & pitch (par 4) and longest drive (par 5). All winners received sleeve of golf balls duly sponsored by brothers from Lodge Blacktown-Kildare 393 and other lodges.
The tournament started with light breakfast at 9:00am followed by breakout at front nine and back nine for all six (60) participants who enjoyed the perfect weather.
After the tournament, everyone were treated with sumptuous BBQ lunch courtesy of volunteers from brethren of Lodge Blacktown-Kildare 393 and their families.
The Presentation of awards followed after lunch with Most Worshipful Bro James Melville as the esteemed presenter assisted by Worshipful Bro Troy Menez Gara.
Tee-Riffic Berdies “ Puro Golf Ltd headed by Toto Quintana fully supported the event and took charge in collating and summarising the score cards.
Proceeds of this inaugural charity golf tournament will go towards the GM’s Prostate Cancer Research and Eagles Rap Charity.
 Brother Troy Menez Gara (in his FB post) congratulated the winners and thanked the participants for their support. He also expressed his appreciation to the brethren of other lodges who overwhelmingly supported the event. “Hope to see you all next year”, he finally said.
