Harold Simbre of Quakers Hill Captured 19th ParE Golf Cup

AugGolf ParE2017 Anniv_o[22067]BY RIC DE VERA -Harold Simbre of Quakers Hill  scored gross stroke of 97 and netted 97 using his handicap of 26 under modified stroke play to win the 19th ParE Gold Social Club Anniversary cup. last 16 July 2017  played at Camden Lakeside Golf Club.

He was awarded a trophy , $150 cash and the right to engrave his name in the tournament’s perpetual cup  trophy for his exceptionl leffort.

“I am very happy to win this tournament for the first time,” said an ecstatic Harold Simbre.

Grade winners with their gross and net scores were: Danny Martinez (85/73) for A and James Castillo (85/73) for B. These grade winners were awarded with trophies plus $100 cash each for their extraordinary efforts. “I did not expect that my score of net 73 which is one over par will win” said a surprise Danny Martinez.

Grade first runners up with their gross and net scores were: Janel Diaz (88/76 CB) for A and Nelson Catig (93/74) for B. Again, these grade first runners up were awarded with trophies plus $75 cash each.

Grade second runners up with their gross and net scores were: Rey Garcia (89/76 CB) for A and Alex Cruz (100/74 CB) for B. Similarly, these grade second runners up were awarded with trophies plus $50 cash each.

Guest winners based on their gross scores were Ted Dumosmog (91) as champion followed by Col Gamad (95) as runner up. Unfortunately these winners left early before the awards presentation.

Novelty hole winners by grades were also awarded with $10 cash prizes each on all holes, whether longest drives (par 5), nearest the pins (par 3) or best drive & pitch (par 4).

Before the presentation, Dodee Leones, one of the original officers/founders of Golf ParE Social club presented sleeve of golf balls to all the individual tournament sponsors, including this writer. “Thank you all and hope that you will again sponsor our 20th Anniversary cup next year” he finally said.

The incumbent Golf ParE Social Club President, Alex Cruz after presenting the awards and prizes to the winners thanked all the participants for joining the 19th Anniversary Cup and congratulated the winners in this year’s anniversary tournament. “See you again next year,” he finally said.

The tournament was enjoyed by forty (40) golfers due to good weather and with carts provided to all. It was followed by hamburger with bacon & chips lunch at the bistro of the clubhouse to the delight of everyone.
