ILOCOS SUR, Philippines – The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth)-Regional Office I informs the public that the application for renewal of PhilHealth accreditation for 2017 of two health care institutions (HCIs) here has been denied due to lawful and justifiable grounds.
Lawyer Rodolfo del Rosario Jr., in-charge in the office of the Regional Vice-President of PhilHealth Regional Office I, said these HCIs include the Tolentino Clinic and Hospital in Sto. Domingo and Ilocos Sur District Hospital Tagudin Animal Bite Treatment Center in Tagudin town.
Del Rosario said that all PhilHealth claims with confinements beginning March 1, 2017 filed by or in behalf of the said HCIs shall be denied by PhilHealth until such time that their respective accreditation shall have been re-instated.
He said that in order to avail of PhilHealth benefits, all PhilHealth members and their dependents are advised to seek medical treatment in PhilHealth accredited HCIs.
Likewise, he advised PhilHealth accredited health care professionals to treat their patients in PhilHealth accredited HCIs.
Aside from the two HCIs, other health units in the Ilocos Region which were not granted with PhilHealth accreditation are the Paras Lying-in Clinic (Bonuan Gueset, Dagupan City); Zenaida Manaois Midwife’s Clinic (Mangaldan, Pangasinan); Paris Pregnancy Care and Birthing Home (Calasiao, Pangasinan); Desseret Birthing Home/Clinic (Urdaneta City, Pangasinan); and St. Catherine Hospital (Bangar, La Union).
For member inquiries, Del Rosario said that PhilHealth members may contact the Public Affairs Unit at telephone no. (075) 515-3333 AVAYA 4128.
“For other concerns, they may also visit the nearest Local Health Insurance Office in their area or the PhilHealth Regional Office at EMDC Building, Sec. Francisco Q. Duque Jr. Road in Tapuac District, Dagupan City,” he said.
