Sec. Andanar underscores importance of ASEAN info kiosk

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – The Philippine Information Agency launched on Saturday, January 28, the ASEAN Info Kiosk at the arrival area of the Zamboanga City International Airport.
No less than Secretary Jose Ruperto Martin M. Andanar of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) graced the launching as he was the keynote speaker of the event.
Secretary Andanar underscored the importance of establishing ASEAN Information Kiosks in international and domestic airports, seaports and bus terminals to let the public know that there is a government taking care of them and that government provides various services to the people.
The Philippines will host the ASEAN 2017 which also coincides with the association’s 50th anniversary with the theme, “Partnering for Change, Engaging the World.”
ASEAN member-countries include: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR), Myanmar, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam
The ASEAN Info Kiosk, a small structure in the airport provides information materials, brochures, factsheets, leaflets and other vital materials made accessible to the public. Tourists can discover every nook and cranny of our country especially our famous tourist destinations.
He added that more info kiosks will be established in other parts of the country. Dipolog and Pagadian City info kiosks will be launched soon.
