It is no wonder that prolific United States-based Filipina singer Carol Banawa would be the talent behind Oz-Pinoy Mother’s Day Offerings “Iingatan Kita Inay” ( I will care for you mother) on Friday May 23 and on Sunday May 25th 2014 at Bowman Hall, Campbell St. in Blacktown and in West Leagues Club, Leumeah, NSW, respectively.
An alumni of the popular TV talent show “Star Magic” in the Philippines, Carol had captivated many with her rendition of her signature “Awit Kay Inay” (Song for Mum). The song became the soundtrack of the award winning Filipino movie “Inay” starring Vilma Santos and Claudine Barreto.
Carol is a singer and actress who is well known for her own rendition of the hit classics Maalaala Mo Kaya, Iingatan Ka, Panunumpa & Bakit Di Totohanin among many. She started singing at a very young age and has seen the limelight when she was tapped to join ABS-CBN’s “Ang TV” in 1994. Carol is one of the Star Circle alumni (Batch 4) and has since ignited as one of the Philippines’ premier music artist.
Carol’s Self-titled album, Carol, garnered gold & multi-platinum awards. Her Follow Your Heart album received gold record certification & platinum record award as well. Moreover, her Transition album garnered gold & platinum record awards also.
She has received a “Special Award” at New York Music Festival. Her songs have reaped multiple recognitions from both local and international music scenes. Moreover, she also conquered the acting world with her hit movies “Tanging Yaman”, “Hiling”, “Nagbibinata”, “Hiling” & the blockbuster hit “Tanging Yaman” with Gloria Romero, Hilda Koronel, Dina Bonnevie, Jericho Rosales & Edu Manzano among others.
