Letter from Sydney Kings Coach Shane Heal

Sydney KingsFanDear Sydney Kings supporters.

All the Sydney Kings players and I are inviting you to the basketball game of the season – game two of the Sydney Kings vs. the New Zealand Breakers iiNet NBL Semi Final Championships on Easter Monday at 2pm. This will be your last chance until the finals to see two great NBL teams in action.

Well, the team has honoured their promise – we have made it to the playoffs of the iiNet NBL Championship.

As our quest for a finals berth continues with game one against the New Zealand Breakers, we have a quest for you. We need your support. We need you to fill the Crown Kingdome on Monday April 1 at 2pm when we face the New Zealand Breakers in game two of the playoffs. We need to hear you roar from every corner and every seat at the Crown Kingdome.

The game on Monday April 1 will be a do or die affair for the Sydney Kings. Depending on the result of our first match, we will need to win the second game at the Crown Kingdome to keep our finals hopes alive; or to secure our place in the finals against the Perth Wildcats or Wollongong Hawks. Your support will help us achieve our dream.

This will be the most exciting game of basketball you will see this season – one you and your family simply will not want to miss. When we tip off at 2pm on Easter Monday, the hopes and dreams of every Sydneysider will be with the players who take to the court to defend the honour of Sydney and the pride of every fan there is; and every fan that has ever seen the Sydney Kings in action.

We have a huge afternoon of entertainment planned for our first semi-final game back at the Crown Kingdome since we returned to the league in 2010. Entertainment, the Lion, the Cheerleaders, competitions, heaps of things for the whole family and, of course, the best game of basketball in town – the Sydney Kings vs. the New Zealand Breakers.

Ben Madgen, winner of the NBL Most Improved Player Award will be doing his bit; Ian Crosswhite, James Harvey, and Darnell Lazare – to name just a few will be there too. They will all be digging deep to bring something extra to the game that, if we win, will mean one thing – the Sydney Kings are back and they have the NBL Championship in their sights.

Between now and Monday, while the team plays, trains, and gets in shape for the critical game on Easter Monday, we are calling on you to join the team. Each and every one can help to fill the Crown Kingdome. Phone your friends; phone your local radio station to send us some love; make up a Sydney Kings group to attend the game; and show your pride by wearing your Sydney Kings shirts everywhere you go over the Easter weekend. We want to see purple and gold all over Sydney!

So, can we count on you? Will we hear you roar at the Crown Kingdome on Monday April 1 at 2pm cheering for the Sydney Kings and helping us to bring this 2012-2013 Championship home again to Sydney? Will you be there?

Book your tickets today at ticketmaster.com.au or, for corporate packages, please call Michael Berdon on 02 9746 0828.

Don’t miss all the action. Don’t miss the Sydney Kings in the basketball game of the year. Don’t miss out on your tickets for Monday April 1, 2013 at 2pm.

Go Kings!

Shane Heal , Sydney Kings Coach
