The Department of Human Services is reminding people of special payment arrangements in place over the Easter and ANZAC Day long weekends.
All service centres delivering Centrelink, Medicare and Child Support services and most phone lines will be closed on Friday 18 April, Monday 21 April and Friday 25 April.
Online services, Express Plus mobile apps and phone self-services will still be available.
Department of Human Services General Manager Hank Jongen urged those who need to lodge forms or report earnings to receive a Centrelink payment, to check their reporting dates as people may need to report their job search efforts or income earlier.
“You can check your reporting dates, update your details and report your earnings quickly and easily via our online services, Express Plus mobile apps or phone self-service,” Mr Jongen said.
“If you use self-service options to report on a public holiday, just remember you won’t be paid until after the public holiday.”
Payments due on a public holiday will be paid early to ensure people are not inconvenienced.
“If you’re due to receive a payment on a public holiday, you may be paid before this date. This is not an extra payment so you will need to budget carefully over this period to ensure your payment lasts until your next payment date,” Mr Jongen said.
