‘Fresh from winning the 15th International Choral Kathaumixw Festival in Canada, the Manila Chamber Singers will be in Sydney from 31 October to 3 November 2013, in a series of concerts showcasing a varied repertoire from sacred, classical, folk and contemporary music.
Formed in 1999, the Philippine-based Manila Chamber Singers is composed of non professional singers who have consistently won international choral festivals in Italy, Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, China, Turkey and most recently the 15th International Choral Kathaumixw in Powell River, British Columbia in Canada.
The Manila Chamber Singers aim to share their passion for music and promote the Filipino culture and music to audiences all over the world. Their Australian tour dubbed Manila Chamber Singers Shine On! starts with a concert in Brisbane, four concerts in Sydney and ends with performances in Canberra.
Sydney leg of their tour is organised by Redland Events in cooperation with various non-profit organisations and for specific causes.
Visiting Kundiman (a genre of traditional Filipino love songs) Singer Miguel Castro of The Filipino Tenors will perform as special guest. Local talents Sydney Sonata Singers and Angelica Mauhay will also perform.

Sunday, 3 November at 3pm – St David’s Uniting Church, 51 Dalhousie Street, Haberfield
