“Ekstra, Bit Player” a socio-realist drama-comedy film starring Vilma Santos will be shown on Thursday 12 September at the Hoyts Cinema in Mt Druitt, NSW in four screenings, namely: 12:50 pm, 3:40 pm, .6:40 pm. and 9:00 pm.
“Ekstra, Bit Player” is Batangas Province Gov. Vilma Santos first “Indie (independent) movie.”
The story follows a seemingly usual day in the life of LOIDA MALABANAN (Vilma Santos) as she embarks on yet another shooting day of a soap opera as an extra.
As the shoot goes on, we get a glimpse of the truth in the ruling system of the production as well as the exploitation of the marginalized labourers like her.
“Ekstra, Bit Player” is directed by Jeffrey Jenturian. It reaped major awards during the recent 2013 Cinemalaya Film Festival in Manila in the Director’s Showcase Category.
