MANILA, Philippines – As a response to the public health threats challenges, the Department of Health through the Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) serves to promote evidence-based decision-making through the conduct of epidemiological investigations and implementation of disease surveillance systems.
The goal of FETP is to improve the practice of epidemiology in the public health sector. Specifically, it aims to strengthen the epidemiological services in the following areas: 1) investigation of disease outbreaks; 2) reporting and analysis of disease surveillance data; 3) development of methodologies for disease prevention and control; and, 4) utilization of epidemiological information for planning, managing and evaluating health services.
DOH is encouraging promising candidates for FETP to apply for a slot in the program. Application form will be sent upon request.
Pre-screening of applicants will be conducted and interview of applicants will commence in November 2016.
