Former Blacktown City Councillor, NSW State Liberal Candidate for Blacktown and community champion has been selected as Liberal Party’s Candidate for Greenway in the 2019 election, says Liberal Party spokesman Dean Shachar.
Mr Green has lived in the Blacktown area for more than 40 years, currently living in Quakers Hill, and served as a Blacktown City Councillor for two decades.
Mr Green will be challenging incumbent Member for Greenway Ms Michele (Labor) Rowland who interestingly won the seat during the Federal ascendancy of the Coalition government under Abbot and Turnbull.
For several terms, Greenway was represented by former Liberal MP Mrs Louise Markus until the election of Ms Rowlands.
Allan Green is presently married to second wife Malu a Filipina from Central Luzon. Allan is a strong supporter of local Christian congregation and had supported Filipino Christian missionary workers in Australia.
“When I was on Council, I initiated the process which led to the construction of the Blacktown Leisure Centre – so I have a track record of delivering wins for our community,” Mr Green said.
“As a former high school teacher who now works in a local small business, I have seen first-hand the difference that a strong economy makes to the lives of everyone in our community.”
Mr Green said he would be fighting to make sure taxes stay low so that people in Greenway keep more of what they earn and would back local small businesses to create more jobs
“Funding for the essential services that our community relies upon is only possible with a strong economy. That’s why I will work as part of the Morrison Liberal Team to ensure our economy is stronger, not weaker, so that our future is secure.”
“A strong budget surplus doesn’t happen by accident, it takes a strong government willing to make the right calls for our country’s future.”
Mr Green said that the upcoming election in Greenway would be a choice between a government that is delivering a stronger economy and fixing the Budget or a Labor Party that would weaken our economy and can’t manage money.
“The significant risk to our community of Labor’s $200 billion in higher taxes on workers, retirees, and small businesses is a risk that the people of Greenway can’t afford.”
“I am looking forward to spending the next few weeks talking with locals about how we can keep delivering for them.”
