TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Members of the Regional Nutrition Committee (RNC) in Cagayan Valley region were urged to maximize the presence of Nutriskwela community radio stations regionwide in their promotional activities.
Ma. Gisela Lonzaga, program coordinator of the National Nutrition Council (NNC), said RNC member-agencies can use the airtime of the different Nutriskewla community radio stations regionwide to promote their respective nutrition-led programs, projects and activities at the local level.
“We are aware that the committee’s member-agencies have their own nutrition programs and activities to help the NNC address the problems on malnutrition,” Lonzaga said, urging them to use these community radio stations in order to reach a wider public.
She added that member-agencies can also tap the group of student-broadcasters organized by NNC to help promote their various nutrition programs and projects including accomplishments and updates.
The NNC official lauded the initiatives of the RNC member-agencies in putting nutrition as one of their priority programs.
She said the NNC will continuously implement more nutrition programs and initiatives at the local level and help those local government units with poor nutrition standing improve its status.
