ROXAS CITY, Philippines – The Land Transportation Office (LTO) – Roxas City District Office has started the issuance of a 5-year driver’s license last Nov. 7 here.
“System adjustments and migration to the new scheme has been completed and we are now ready for the extended validity period of driver’s licenses,” said LTO Roxas City Acting Chief Gifford Selloriquez in a radio interview.
Under the new scheme, an increase of about P235.00 in the renewal and new license applications is added on the current three-year license validity fee.
Silloriquez explained that payment for the renewal of driver’s license will now be P652.63 from P417.63 while new license application fee will be P820.26 from P585.06.
Requirements are still the same according to Silloriquez.
The initiative was conveyed by Pres. Rodrigo R. Duterte during his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) last July in his desire to reduce processing time for issuing business permits and licenses in view of the government’s cracked down on red tape.
