MALACANANG, Philippines – His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco will be in the Philippines next week for a two-day official visit, Communication Secretary Herminio Coloma, Jr. has announced.
“His Serene Highness Albert II, Sovereign Prince of Monaco, will undertake an Official Visit to the Philippines from 6 to 7 April 2016 upon the invitation of His Excellency President Benigno S. Aquino III,” Secretary Coloma said in a statement on Wednesday.
Prince Albert II will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Rizal Park on Thursday (April 7), and will proceed to Malacañang Palace for bilateral talks with President Aquino.
“The two leaders and their respective delegations are expected to discuss bilateral issues of common interest, such as economic cooperation, humanitarian assistance, sustainable development, and environmental protection, among others,” Coloma said.
President Aquino will also host a luncheon in honor of the visiting monarch.
Prince Albert II, a well-known advocate of strengthening marine environmental protection, will also visit Palawan and the Tubbataha Reefs National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Coloma said.
