MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines will once again host a remarkable event in fostering free trade and economic prosperity on November 17 to 19 expecting the arrival of 21 world leaderc and other foreign dignitaries of the member economies.
The Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit 2015 which will be held at the Philippine lnternational Convention Center (PICC), will be participated byAustralia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, People’s Republic of China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, lndonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, the United States of America, and Vietnam.
This enormous event will trigger another inclination to impose threats that are assumed to disrupt and initiate disorder. Thus, to prevent occurence of any untoward incident, the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) will participate through proper implementation and coordination of security measures in various airports, seaports and land transport facilities.
OTS will also be in lateral coordination with law enforcement agencies such as the Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines and other attached agencies under the Department of Transportation and Communications.
Security Screening Officers will also be deployed to many various locations which will be utilized during the event.
ln preparation for the said event, the OTS will be activating its 24/7 monitoring activities. Reporting of any suspicious activities and movements are likewise encouraged and shall be reported through OTS hotline at 0919-9999-687(0T5).
