DTI launches Negosyo Center

BORONGAN CITY, Philippines – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Provincial Office launched the Borongan City Negosyo Center recently at DTI, Provincial Office, Brgy. Songco, Borongan City, this province.
DTI Officer-in-Charge, Mr Nathaniel L. Fabillar, shared that Republic Act No. 10644 (R.A. No. 10644) otherwise known as the “Go Negosyo Act” promotes job generation and inclusive growth through development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). It was signed by President Benigno S. Aquino III on July 15, 2014.
Mr. Fabillar added that “this act is targeted to bring government services closer to business sector particularly the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through the establishment of Negosyo Center in all provinces, cities and municipalities nationwide, that, Negosyo Center shall be responsible for promoting ease of doing business and facilitating access to services for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)”.
Aside from facilitating business registration through the Philippine Business Registry or the PBR System, the Center shall provide assistance to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the availment of technology transfer, production and management training programs and marketing assistance of the different government line agencies, he added.
Through the Go Negosyo Act, DTI in collaboration with the Local Government Units (LGUs), other government line agencies and private sectors, expect to further boost government’s assistance to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), ensure their continued growth and in the process, intensify the promotion of entrepreneurship in the province of Eastern Samar as an engine for economic development.
“Under the R.A., sustainable growth will redown particularly in the countryside, boost the creation of new entrepreneurs and the rapid expansion of existing MSMEs, leading to more jobs and an improved standard of living for Eastern Samarenos”, Mr. Fabillar further said.
For this year 2015, he shared, the province of Eastern Samar will establish, set-up and maintain two Negosyo Centers particularly in the City of Borongan and in the municipality of Guiuan. Next year, their office is also targeting to establish two Negosyo Centers for Oras and Dolores.
Present also during the launching ceremony were: Mr. Pedro Bembo Basada Tan, Regional Negosyo Center Coordinator, Mr. Dyan Agda, City Administrator, representative of the City Mayor, Hon. Ma. Fe R. Abunda, Mr. Kenneth Incienzo, President, Borongan Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Cyril Jesus Alzate, President, Lanang Construction Services Corporation, Officers and Members of the Borongan Press Club and DTi Provincial Staff.
