A number of young Filipino Australian talents in Western Sydney are following the example of the talented teenager Marlisa Punzalan who was catapulted to stardom by winning the Australian X Factor talent show, honing their giftings in local West Sydney concerts, especially as front acts in a number of shows by popular Manila based Filipino stars/
Some concert impresarios must have noticed this window of opportunity for stardom so that they are facilitating their transition offering training, if not booking performances . This is a big difference from what used to be purely casual and “stage-mother-type of talent promotions tagging one aspiring teenage talent as front act performers to the next forthcoming Philippine-origin star concert in Sydney and in other major cities.
MAS Presents which is headed by youth show and hip hop concerts impresario Mr Marco Selorio recently announced it has created a brand new talent division that is dedicated to breed future Australian music stars. Mr Selorio recently received a best-in-business award citation for one of his hip hop concert projects from an Auburn, NSW based chamber of commerce.
Mr Selorio said MAS Entertainment will be looking to identify, develop and create direct opportunities for unsigned young artists and dancers.
MAS director and Hip Hop impresario Marco Selorio has established a decade of successful dance shows and talent quests, and over the years has seen the likes of Justice Crew, Timomatic, Jai Waetford, Iggy Azalea, Tkai Maidza and Liam Singe go through his events to become Australian household names.
“Our team has a strong eye for talent and MAS clearly distinguishes potential young stars way before they go through the reality television shows. It’s about time that we start developing our own. We have formed special partnerships with Google/YouTube, Harder Music Group and Ikon to help our local artists develop their own brand and support them in finding a niche in the entertainment industry. It will take plenty of time, energy and patience before we start seeing some results. We are investing in the future, “ says Selorio.
MAS has signed up some incredibly gifted musical acts, including singer/songwriter Shavaun Marie, Australia’s Got Talent grand finalist and beatbox champion Genesis Cerezo, 10-year old singing prodigy Jasmine Henry, Young Talent Time star Michelle Mutyora, boy band NOTB, young singer Alyssa Manalo, versatile performer Bernie Van Tiel and acoustic star Louise Corbett.
“On the flipside, our reach in dance is now global as we have started expand our World Supremacy Battlegrounds brand across South America, Europe and South East Asia. We are currently working hand in hand with some of the biggest names in the dance world, including KRUMP founder Tight Eyez, international champions FMD Xtreme, YouTube sensation Laurence Kaiwai and French duo Les Twins. We are in the early stages of signing up dancers in Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines in 2015.”
