15 cops in Ph cited for bravery

COTABATO, Philippines – PNP Chief, “CODE-P” Police Director General Alan L Purisima, will present awards to 15 police officers who successfully defended their town against the shooting and looting rampage of some 100 communist New People’s Army insurgents in Cotabato last week.

The 15 police officers were cited for their courage and gallantry in action during an encounter with more or less 100 armed men believed to be members of the New People’s Army (NPA) who staged an attack at President Roxas Municipal Police Station last May 20, 2014.

PDG Purisima, will award the PNP Medal of Bravery (Medalya ng Katapangan) to 15 Cops of President Roxas MPS led by Chief of Police, Police Senior Inspector Bernabe T. Rubio, together with:

Police Inspector Sherwin D. Panaguiton, Senior Police Officer 4 Arnold S. Nadela, Senior Police Officer 3 Larry J. Gregorio, Senior Police Officer 2 Isidro T. Guirhem, Senior Police Officer 1 Marivic D. Pedrola,Police Officer 3 Julius C. Dagpin, Police Officer 3 Michael Angelo B. Cariño, Police Officer 3 Rafael O. Carbon, Police Officer 2 Dennis A. Soledad, Police Officer 1 Raymund Niño P. Nuevo, Police Officer 1 Razel S. Genzola, Police Officer 1 Job Franklin D. Santos, Police Officer 1 Johnny Boy K. Lomotos and Police Officer 1 Roy Angelo B. Rasonabe

The 15 members of the President Roxas Municipal Police Station held their ground and engaged the insurgents in a close quarter firefight that resulted in the killing of five (5) and wounding of undetermined number on the enemy side.

Furthermore, PSInsp Rubio will also receive the Medalya ng Sugatang Magiting (PNP Wounded Medal) issued by Police Regional Office 12 for being wounded in the firefight.

The Chief PNP will also turn over a brand new KIA 4×4 troop carrier, assault rifles and replenishment ammunition and financial support to the President Roxas Municipal Police Station.
