Willie Trinidad and Jess Arranz tandem won the 7th J Arranz & Associates Golf Cup held on 23 May 2021 at Fox Hills Golf Club in Prospect, NSW and organised by Sydney Jokers Social Golf Club.
They achieved net score of 65.5 stokes under the two-ball Ambrose system of scoring.
The pair received $400 cash prize and the privilege to engrave their names in the perpetual trophy. Jess Arranz donated back his share of the cash prize of $200 to the organiser. “What I like best in golf and why we all continue to play is you develop and enjoy best camaraderie, banter fun and friendship among your fellow golfers. That’s the reason why we play golf in addition to the health benefits we get. I am very happy to sponsor and be part of Sydney Jokers” finally said Jess Arranz.
Rene del Rosario & Albert Hodge took the first runner=up position with net score of 66 strokes after deducting 9 combined handicaps calculated under the two-ball ambrose system of scoring. As first runner winner, the tandem received $300 cash prize.
Second runner up winner was the tandem of Maynard Tabungar & Robert Dunn with net score of 66.25 strokes after deducting 9.75 calculated combined handicap. The tandem received $200 cash prize for their best efforts.
Novelty hole winners (nearest the pins) with $20 cash prize each were awarded to: Renato Manongdo for hole #3; Danny Martinez for home #5, Lorenzo Aquino for hole #11, Ferdi Francisco for hole #15 and Bert Bugayong for hole #17.
During the awards presentation, this writer as president of Sydney Jokers welcomed and thanked everyone for coming to the 7th J Arranz & Associates Cup – the officers of the club, the pioneers and loyal Jokers’ golfers, the new members and guests and friend golfers.
Thanks and appreciation to the sponsor and benefactor Jess Arranz who is the Director and Practice Principal of JA & Associates Pty Ltd . A known professional, Mr Arranza especially donated $1000 to cover cash prizes of JA & Associates Cup which is now on its 7th year.
The efforts of Sydney Jokers officers are commendable.
Sydney Jokers Secretary Ferdi Francisco added his vote of confidence to all participants including the some 30 Sydney Jokers Club members, the highest turnout in the tournaments’s seven year.
