Bicol Inc. office bearers for 2021-2022

Sydney-based Bicol Communities League Inc otherwise known as Bicol Inc., inducted its  Office-Bearers for 2021-2022 on Sunday 16th May 2021 at Lily’s Restaurant, Seven Hills.

Ms Zena Samar from Catanduanes will serve as chairperson.

Bicol Inc. is an organisation of Australian citizens and residents coming originally from the six Philippine provinces of Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon and Masbate in South of Luzon island. It was formed 16 years ago shortly after a Bicol Grand Reunion was held in Western by approximately 500 Bicolanos and friends,

Bicol Inc. has continued its collegial  type of leadership with representatives from each of the Bicol provinces forming the year’s office bearers. For 2021-2022, the reign of executive responsibility rests with Catanduanes representative Ms. Zena Samar with Deldin “Boy” Posada as alternate official.

The complete list of officials are as follows:  Zena Samar (Catanduanes) chairperson; Criselda Beck (Masbate), vice chairperson; Bobby Lastica (Sorsogon), secretary; Demi Robinson (Camarines Sur), treasurer; Penny Perfecto (Camarines Sur) PRO; and Fe Moran (Albay), auditor

Standing Committee officials: Alice Posada (Masbate), education and training;  Delfin “Boy” Posada, sports and recreation; Jose “Dan Elizes”(Camarines Norte), grievance and disputes; Francia Carbonell (Albay), Youth affairs; Joan V, Kavianifar (Sorsogon)m arts and culture; Delia Higoy (Camarines Norte), education and training.

Philippine Consul Melanie Rita Diano, who is also a Bicolana from Camarines Norte administered the oath of office.

2021 Chairperson Zena Samar paid tribute to the founding members of the Bicol Inc.  She highlighted the commitment and passion of the prime movers in building the organisation and earning respect and high regard.

 Chairperson Samar said Bicol Inc will aim to work with dedication and sacrifices at the same time infuse fun, camaraderie and a sense of community spirit.

Among the planned projects for 2021 are its ongoing ‘Adopt A School Project, DanceORama Fund Raising Event in July, the Bowling For Fun in August, and a Special Project in December called Philippine Music and Arts Festival which is a free entry event to the general public.
