The newly formed organisation Multicultural Assitance Task Force (MATF) through the Chairperson of its organising committee Dr. Cen Amores announced the celebration of the 122nd Philipine Independence Day by way of its project Humanitarian Assistance to Filipino International Students to be held at the Auburn Youth Centre, Wyatt Park Sports Complex on Church Street in Lidcombe, NSW , a short walk to the Lidcombe train station.
It will be held from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on 20 June 2020.
MATF is composed of twelve community organisations, businesses and church denominations that banded to help Filipino International Students, in coordination with the Association of Pinoy Students in Australia (APSA).
Dr. Amores said invited to attend the occasion are Philippine Consul General to Sydney Mr Ezzedin Tago and Consuls Emmanuel Guzman and Melanie B. Diano and representatives from federal, state and local government.
Amores said Initially, MATF will distribute grocery packs, take away food packs, winter clothes and blankets to 100 students. It is their hope that they will be able to expand their services to other multicultural communities in times of crises and calamities.
Participating organisations include Alliance of Philippine Community Organisations (APCO), Kapitbahayan Coop, Auburn Small Community Organisations Network (ASCON), Grace Church, Australasian Financial Solutions, Crowe Productions, La Sadi Accounting, Salon de Amore, Super Save, Iraqui Renaissance, AYC Building Communities and Association of Pinoy Students in Australia.
