DSWD ready for Habagat

QUEZON CITY, Philippines – Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary (DSWD) Judy M. Taguiwalo announced that the Department, including its field offices in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Region III, are on alert and standby for any emergencies. It has activated its quick response teams and has been monitoring the situation in the provinces of Bataan, Zambales and Bulacan.
“Some 7,000 foodpacks have been prepositioned and ready for distribution in Zambales,” Taguiwalo said.


Secretary Taguiwalo added, “Thirty thousand foodpacks are on standby in the DSWD Field Office 3 as staff continues to coordinate with local authorities regarding possible emergencies.”
The National Capital Region Field Office of the DSWD has yet to receive assistance, although a Yellow Warning Alert was raised over Manila, Paranaque, and Quezon City.
