ANTIQUE, Philippines – The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Antique encouraged voters to check their names early with the list of Registered Voters at the Offices of the Municipal Election Officers where they are registered.
Atty. Jessie B. Suarez said few days before May 9, 2016 registered voters could visit the Municipal Election Officers to check their names and precinct number so that on Election Day they will not get stuck with the long queue of voters finding their names in the lists.
“During election day one of the causes of the delay was the finding of names and precinct number in polling precincts,” he said.
For those who have not secured their COMELEC Identification Cards they could visit the COMELEC Office in their municipality.
He also enjoined the support of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting to assist the voters in finding their names by securing the list early at the Municipal Election Officers.
COMELEC also enjoined candidates to comply with the Resolution on the provisions of the COMELEC Poster Area. List of location of Common Poster Area duly authorized by COMELEC could be secured at the Offices of the provincial or municipal election officers.
Antique has a total of 322,861 registered voters with 742 clustered precincts.
