QUEZON CITY, Philippines —The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said yesterday that Tropical Storm ‘Kabayan’ has intensified further as it continues to move away from the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
As of 10PM yesterday, ‘Kabayan’ was located at 320km West of Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, carrying a maximum sustained winds of 85kph near the center, and gustiness of up to 100kph.
The estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within the 300km diameter of the Tropical Storm.
‘Kabayan’ was expected to exit PAR late night yesterday or early morning today (11PM to 1AM).
No public storm warning signal has been declared but occasional rains will be experienced over the provinces of Bataan, Zambales, and Pangasinan.
PAGASA said that sea travel is risky over the Northern and Western seaboards of Luzon.
