FORMER Asia-Pacific lightweight champion Ranee ‘KO Kid’ Ganoy returns to the ring shortly after almost a year’s absence.
Ganoy, originally from Cotabato before emigrating to Australia, fights David Kotey, of Ghana, in a 10-round main event at Punchbowl Club, Bankstown, on Friday, May 30.
The fight will be a light-welterweight bout.
The pinoz had put on weight during months of being idle, but said he would be coming down to his normal fighting weight of 135 lbs soon.
It hadn’t been Ganoy’s choice not to fight for months on end. In fact, he changed management because I wanted to be more active.
”I’m feeling good and fit,” he said. “I won’t have a problem fighting Kotey at light-welterweight.”
Ganoy, now based at Campbelltown NSW and trained by Todd Makelim, fights with Team Thunderlegs, under fight promoter Robert Glasson Wilesmith.
