I love High Tea. Who wouldn’t enjoy lounging around for hours, chatting away with friends, and eating and drinking to your heart’s content? I particularly love digging into the bite-sized portions, and the ample selection of sweet and savoury goodies, so I don’t have to wait until the last course to enjoy dessert. Over two hours I can indulge in a little bit of everything – having at least two morsels of each – and not feel a hint of bloating nor guilt.

Freshly baked scones with jam and fresh cream is as quintessential to the High Tea experience as the pot of freshly brewed tea. This basic scone recipe from the Australian Women’s Weekly is a classic and one of my favourites.
